New music this week from The Service Industry and the recently purchased The Complete Goldwax Singles, Volume 3, 1967-1970 and a John Prine set inspired by news of an upcoming tribute album featuring Those Darlins, the Drive-By Truckers and others.

New music this week from Mark Sultan, the Baseball Project and Hipbone Slim & the Knee-Tremblers. Playlist for 4/2/10: The Doc is In
The 2010 MLB season begins Sunday night, so I was required by law to begin the show with a baseball theme. I gave a tip of the hat (with an excellent instrumental courtesy of Philly's - by way of D.C. - late, great Delta 72 ) to Roy Halladay, my Phils' celebrated offseason acquisition to kick things off. It was pretty quiet around the WMSE studios with the business office closed for Good Friday, but I managed to scare a listener into thinking a Dead Milkmen member had died by playing a set of their songs. Sorry, no Milkmen murdered or otherwise done in – DM guitarist/vocalist/founder Joe Jack Talcum is coming to Milwaukee on April 7 to play with the Goodnight Loving at the Bay View Brewhaus.
